Kathmandu, Nov. 23: CPN Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the role Sheikh community played for the economic development and prosperity of the country was significant.
On the occasion of 549th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak in Kathmandu on Friday, Chairman Dahal observed, “The Sheikh community has brought revolution in Nepal’s road transport.”
Also the former prime minister, Chairman Dahal viewed that the thoughts forwarded by Guru Nanak would help direct society towards truth, love and fraternity.
Moreover, the Sheikh people also had support to Nepal against the Anglo War.
On the occasion, Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Manjeev Singh Puri, expressed pleasure over the protection of hand written texts of the Sheikh religion in Nepal’s national museum.
