Kathmandu, Nov. 17: Nepali Congress (NC) has condemned the incident of bomb attack on the vehicles of party leaders Dr Ram Sharan Mahat and Ramesh Kumar Mahat in Nuwakot district on Friday.
NC leader and candidate of House of Representatives in Nuwakot Constituency-1 Dr Mahat and province candidate in Nuwakot Constituency-1'B' Ramesh Kumar were targeted with a pressure cooker bomb while they were in the election campaigns.
Chief Secretary of NC central office Krishna Prasad Poudel said that five NC cadres including Upendra Mishra, Bhesh Kumar Tamang, Sabin Lama and Ramesh Rai have sustained serious injuries in the incident. The injured are receiving treatment in the capital city.
"NC denounces such an attack and deplorable incident plotted aiming to kill the NC candidates by the oppositions with criminal mindsets. This incident has challenged the citizen's fundamental right to organize peaceful activities in elections," reads the statement.
The NC has also asked the government to book the persons involved in the incident and provide treatment to those injured. RSS
