Kathmandu, Jan. 6: The 1st National Yoga Sports Championship will be held from January 8 to 9 in Itahari of Sunsari district.
To be organised by the Nepal Yoga Sports Association, the competition aims to create awareness about yoga by connecting yoga with sports, said the NYSA's treasurer and coordinator of the selection committee Mani Raj Kunwar.
The contestants will demonstrate different types of yoga postures in the competition that will be categorised into three phases by age separately for male and female groups.
Contestants of the 11-17 year age group will be included in the first round, the competitors of the 18-49 year age group in the second and those above 50 years in the third. Competitors can participate individually or in group. Up to 150 groups of contestants can participate, said the organizer association. RSS
