Kathmandu, Nov. 28: The House of Representatives, Public Accounts Committee, has directed the Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) to submit its opinion where or not the Nepal Airlines Corporation violated the public procurement process while purchasing wide-body aircraft. The PPMO has been asked to respond within 10 days.
The Committee directed the Office to submit its written opinion after it acquired necessary information about the aircraft procurement process from Secretary of the Office, Madhu Prasad Regmi, in today's meeting.
The Committee asked the Office to submit the report addressing the questions raised in the committee regarding whether or not the public procurement process was violated while purchasing the wide-body aircraft that has made 1,000 hours flight.
The Parliamentary Committee has been acquiring information from bodies concerned following reports of alleged irregularities while purchasing the aircraft. RSS
