Bardibas, Feb. 8: Senior leader of the Nepal Communist party (NCP) and former Prime Minister, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has said a new agricultural revolution was necessary for country’s prosperity.
At a programme organised on the 16th anniversary of the adharshila (a commune set up by leaders of NCP fourth general convention) at Bardibas of Mahottari on Friday, senior leader Nepal said the development of new technology in agricultural sector could only lead the country towards the prosperity campaign.
“Potentials in different areas need to be unlocked. The prosperity through agriculture should however be scientific and practical,” he underscored.
However, the NCP leader said the campaign of prosperity could not take place until there was the guarantee of improved seeds and fertilizer, accessible market and use of technology to the farmers.
The former Prime Minister stressed that the slogan of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ could be materialized if today’s generation got opportunity to utilize their skills and capacity.
Similarly, Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, one of the founding members of adharshila, said that the incumbent government was active to make all people literate. RSS
