Damauli, Sept. 25: A month-long Global Omkar and Hindu Grand Gathering Festival is to be organized at the Vyasgufa area with the objective of introducing Damauli, the birthplace of Ved Vyas, to the rest of the world.
Ved Vyas is a great sage who composed the 18 Puranas, the Veda and the Mahabharat, the holy books of the Hindus.
The Veda Anuyayi Pratisthan Nepal Tanahun announced about this event at a news conference here on Monday.
Pratisthan’s chairperson Krishna Kanta Kafle said that the grand gathering festival would be held from October 18 to November 16 around the Vaysgufa area in Damauli. He added that the event is being organized to promote religious tourism and to popularize the area as a historic site of spiritual knowledge.
Religious gurus, saints, ascetics, Hindu scholars and followers of the Omkar family from around the world will attend the grand gathering, chief patron of the Pratisthan, Shanti Sworupananda Damodar Baba, said. A lecture on the Vedas will be held as part of the event. RSS
