Kathmandu, Jan. 2: Leaders of Nepal Communist party and former ministers have suggested for scientific categorization of land and to introduce a land-use policy soon.
Leaders including former Prime Minister and NCP leader Madhav Kumar Nepal suggested this at a discussion organised by Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Padma Aryal, at the Ministry on Wednesday.
They urged the government to come up with overall concept about land, to address problems of landless squatters, to declare industrial and residential area as well as to make clear policy regarding land plotting.
Saying no one should be landless at a time when there is NCP-led government and there should be other measures for livelihood for the people with land, leader Nepal there would be soil erosion while carrying out development construction without clear plan about land.
On the occasion, Minister Aryal said that she would make plan based on the suggestions and added that Land-related Act is under the discussion and Land-use Act is under consideration at the Council of Ministers.
