Patna, Aug. 1: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar monday praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying no one was capable of challenging him in the next General Election. “No one is competent enough to compete with Modi in 2019,” he said.
On dumping the grand alliance to form a government with BJP support, he said: “We had no option but to part ways with the Mahagathbandhan. We strived hard to save the alliance, but the RJD never respected its sanctity.”
Nitish said he only wanted Lalu Prasad Yadav and Deputy CM Tejaswi to make their stand clear on corruption. Instead, they said the JD-U was not the CBI that could seek a clarification from them. He talked to Lalu several times, Nitish claimed.
Nitish Kumar reiterated that he did not need a certificate of secularism from anyone. “Where is the rule to amass wealth under the garb of secularism?” he said.THE TRIBUNE
