Khandbari, Feb. 8: An unidentified group blasted a bomb at power plant of the under construction 900-mega watt- Arun III hydro power project in Sankhuwasabha district Thursday night.
According to Police Inspector Rameshwor Pandit, the group blasted three bombs at the power plant located at Pukhuwa of Chichila rural municplaity-3 in the district.
Chief District Officer Ganesh Bahadur Adhikari and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office Shyam Saru Magar went to the site to take stock of the situation on Friday.
Due to the blast, boomer that is used to drill and generator have been damaged, according to police. Search for culprits is continued, said Inspector Pandit.
A team of army and police have been deployed in the accident site.
The site where the incident took place lies five hours drive away from the district headquarters. For lack of communication services in this area, detailed information of the incident is yet to be received. RSS
