New Delhi, Oct. 26: India beat New Zealand by six wickets in the second one-day international in Pune on Wednesday to level the series at 1-1. Set a target of 231 for a win, India got to the required runs in 46 overs. This is a landmark win for India as playing their 100th ODI against New Zealand, they registered their 50th win.
The top scorer for India was Shikhar Dhawan who made 68 off 84 balls. Also playing his part for India was Dinesh Karthik who made 64 not out off 92 balls. For New Zealand, the pick of the bowlers was Adam Milne who had figures of one for 21 in eight overs.
Earlier, winning the toss and electing to bat, New Zealand posted 230 for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Henry Nicholls top scored with 42 off 62 balls. The next best for New Zealand was Colin de Grandhomme who scored 41 off a mere 40 balls.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar got three scalps for India, giving away 45 runs in his quota of 10 overs. Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal meanwhile picked up two wickets each.
The third and final ODI of the series will be played in Kanpur on Sunday. The ODI series will be followed by a T20I series which begins in Delhi on November 1. INDIA.COM
