Gaur (Rautahat), Aug. 5: Four children, two from the same family and two others from separate families, have drowned in a puddle falling on the way to Jigadiya to Garuda in Garuda Municipality-4 in Rautahat district on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as 14-year-old Sunita Sah and 9-year-old Sangita Sah, daughters of Ram Ekwal.
Similarly, Jogendra Sah's daughter Sunaina Sah, 9, and Prem Sah's daughter Susmita Sah of same age also lost their lives to fateful incident, according to Area Police Office, Garuda in the district.
Police Inspector at the Area Police Office at Garuda, Keshav Regmi, said that police estimated that the children got drowned in the roadside puddle while they were trying to bathe.
The children belonging to the brothers of the same family had left home at around 11 am to bring home fodder for animals, according to the family source of the deceased.
The puddle was created after the dozer had dug the road for repair during May.
The dead bodies have been brought to the Gaur Hospital for a post mortem, police said. RSS
