New Delhi/Karachi, Apr. 29: Fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar has reportedly suffered heart stroke some days back and was admitted to a hospital in Karachi, News 18 reported. Sources close to Dawood Ibrahim reportedly said to News 24, that the 62-year-old don has been kept on a ventilator after an operation to remove brain tumour failed. However, Chhota Shakeel, the second in command to Dawood Ibrahim and a close confidante of a Karachi-based underworld don, denied the report.

According to News 24 sources, some 20 days ago Dawood Ibrahim suffered a major paralysis attack when he was at his residence in Clifton road, Karachi. After the paralysis stroke, his right part of the body became non-functional. The report further claimed that Chhota Shakeel his close aide is taking care of the don on the death bed.

On April 22, Dawood Ibrahim was taken to a hospital for a surgery where doctors advised to remove a brain tumour present inside don’s brain. Though some top Pakistani surgeons were called to perform the operation, but they failed. Since April 22, the Karachi-based don is counting his last breath on a ventilator. The reports also claimed that the Indian Intelligence agencies are keeping a close watch on the situation in Pakistan.

Since the news broke out, a large number of crowd were seen today at the house of Dawood’s brother Iqbal Kaskar who stays at Pakmodia street, in South Mumbai. Several relatives had started pouring to inquire about Dawood’s health and some reports also claimed that special prayers were held for the speedy recovery of don.

Almost three years ago, Dawood Ibrahim had reportedly booked a place of burial at the Churney Road Bada Kabrastan, where wished to be buried after his death. The report published in Mumbai Mirror in 2014 claimed that Dawood had booked a space for burial next to his father Iqbal Kaskar who was laid to rest at the Bada Kabrastan in Churni Road, South Mumbai, some years ago. If Dawood dies in Pakistan, there is a little chance that his body will be brought back to India.
