Malekhu (Dhading), July 31: The local authorities here on Sunday arrested a woman in suspicion of involvement in the murder of Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Bir Bahadur Gurung - stationed at Darkha Police Post at Khaniyabas rural municipality – 4 in Dhading's northern rim.
The police arrested the suspect, Tara Thapa Magar, who lives nearby the police post, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Sharad Khatri.
Tara's husband, Sushil Gurung, is currently on the run. Police accuse the husband – working as a social volunteer under the Strong House Programme – of calling ASI Gurung to his house with help of his wife and murdering him.
ASI Gurung's body was found on Friday morning in a corn field near the police post. He was working at the police station on Thursday.
SP Khatri said investigation will take some time as they need to seek the court's permission for the individual mobile call details, and that the murderer would be nabbed soon.
ASI Gurung was temporarily deputed as the police station's in – charge with the chief officer on holiday. The Darkha police post located 40 km north of Dhading downtown remains inaccessible for vehicles during the monsoon season. RSS
