Malekhu ( Dhading), Dec. 3: No government offices in Dhading have so far disabled-friendly structures.
At an interaction programme organised Friday by the District Women and Children Office, Dhading among the representatives of various district-based organisations, people with physical disabilities lamented that no public buildings in the district have yet realised the need of developing facilities for them.
The recently constructed training hall and toilet of the Cottage and Small Industries' Development Committee here has no disabled-friendly structure, they shared. The administrative section of the District Court, Baglung seems inaccessible for them as it lies on the third floor of its building. Other government offices and schools have the similar conditions.
On the occasion, Chief District Officer Leeladhar Adhikari pledged to make initiatives to ensure the disabled-friendly structures in new public buildings and their easy access to the services of the government and non-government bodies with creating disabled-friendly atmosphere in public sphere. RSS
