Bharatpur, Jan. 30: Four municipalities of Chitwan district are bound to purchase a fire engine on joint investment.
The fire engine procurement process has taken stride when Kalika, Khairahani, Ratnanagar and Rapti municipalities took a joint decision to that end. A joint meeting of the four municipalities held at Kalika municipality on Tuesday took the decision to purchase a fire engine by coming February 27, shared Khum Narayan Shrestha, Mayor of Kalika municipality.
It may be noted that a study and recommendation committee was formed under Shrestha's leadership to take ahead the procurement process.
"We do not need to rely on Bharatpur Metropolitan City for fire engine after the procurement", he said. The meeting recommended to purchase a fire engine up to the price of Rs 6 million. Earlier, the four municipalities of east Chitwan had taken decision to construct ring road on a joint venture. RSS
