Mumbai, July 29: Bollywood Superstar Sanjay Dutt who is sweetly referred to as ‘baba’ in the Indian film industry has turned 59 today. His wife Maanyata Dutt hosted a party for Sanjay Dutt’s birthday inviting close friends and family. The actor celebrated this milestone with his close and loved ones as he turned a year wiser.
He is the son of noted actors Sanjay and Nargis Dutt and made his debut in 1981 with the popular Rocky. He has a career spanning across 37 years and has won many awards for his contribution to films. He has won two IIFA awards, two Filmfare Awards, three Screen Awards, three Stardust Awards, two Zee Cine Awards among other notable awards. Four of his films have also received the coveted National Film Awards. He has recently been in the limelight for ‘Sanju’ which is a biopic that has been based on his real life and directed by Rajkumar Hirani. The lead role is played by actor Ranbir Kapoor. The Agneepath star has gone through extreme highs and lows in real life and a lot of that has been portrayed in the reel life as well.
The actor has also been jailed as he was charged for the illegal possession of weapons, however, he was not charged under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) for which he was arrested in April 1993. He served out a sentence of 5 years in Pune and was released early for good behaviour.
The actor will be seen in upcoming Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster 3 and Shamshera. India.com
