Pokhara, Nov. 6: The volleyball training facility and media centre constructed in the premises of the Pokhara stadium has come into operation from today.
The training centre was constructed at a total cost of Rs 9.7 million. Of the total cost, Rs 9.5 was invested by the National Sports Council (NSC) and the remaining by the Pokhara-Lekhnath Metropolitan City.
The media centre was constructed at a cost of Rs 1.89 million of the NSC. Ten computers, two laptops, one printer, one photocopy machine and high-speed internet service have been installed at the media centre.
Six various games are taking place in Pokhara under the 13th South Asian Games being held in Nepal in 2019 and the establishment of the centre would make it easier for the media to cover the games.
NSC member-secretary Keshab Kumar Bista inaugurated the training facility and the media centre here today.
On the occasion, he said that the Pokhara Stadium would be upgraded into a world-class stadium in one and a half years. RSS
