Kanchanpur, May 28: The Bhimdatta municipality has launched a feasibility study for rafting in the raging Mahakali river.
The adventure sport will be held from Trishul section of the river to Bhramhadev. It will be launched in ward no 1 as part of a broader campaign aimed at multiple usage of Mahakali river.
Bhimdatta's Mayor Surendra Bista had campaigned in the election by flagging the promise of using the Mahakali river in multi-dimensional ways.
Bista said rafting will be held from Bhramhadev to Farsawan section in inner Madhes for promoting religious tourism. The municipal office has already sent a letter to the Tourism Ministry for support.
The Karnali Rafting and Adventure Pvt Ltd has shown interest in running the rafting business. Its proprietor, Dev Raj Jaisi, said the Karnali Rafting will collaborate with an Indian company to run the business. RSS
