Kathmandu, Jan. 1: Senior most justice of the Supreme Court Cholendra Shamsher JBR is becoming the 29th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court after he was unanimously approved by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee on Tuesday.
He will be the head of judiciary after taking oath of Office and Secrecy from President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday.
Incumbent Chief Justice Om Prakash Mishra retired from the post today due to age limit.
Justice Cholendra Shamsher had become permanent justice of the Supreme Court in 2071 BS and before that he had served as the judge of different appellate courts. RSS
