Ankura wins Open Volleyball Tournament


Pokhara, Aug. 26: The Ankura Youth Club's team 'Aanbukaseri' on Friday clinched the Open Volleyball Tournament held to mark the Hindu festival of Hari Talika Teej.

In the event organized by Bagmara Yuva Sangam Group and Anusasit Amaa Group, a total of 12 teams took part.

The Tallo Pundi team from Namuna Yuva Club became the first runner – up while the Gandakibensi of Baladevi Yuva Club was announced as the second runner – up, according to Yuva Sangam Group Chair and Tournament Coordinator, Pramod Acharya.

The winner, first runner – up and the second runner - up received Rs 40,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 3,000 as cash prizes respectively along with certificates.

In the Teej Song competition, Tallo Gagangainda of Didibahini Amaa Group was announced as the winner whereas Bareli Chok of Roshani Acharya Group was declared the first runner – up.

Shanti Devi Acharya's Pani Tanki was announced as the second runner – up while Pataneri of Nari Uthan Group was awarded a consolation prize, Yuva Sangam Group's member Bal Bahadur Nepali said.

The winner, first runner – up and second runner – up received Rs 20,000, Rs 12, 000 and Rs 7,000 respectively as cash prizes along with certificates. The Pataneri team received Rs 3000 as consolation prize.

Meanwhile, Sujata Karki Group's Sarita Poudel received Rs 1500 for giving the best dance performance in the competition. RSS
