Rukum, Aug. 6: The power supply to Musikot municipality including the district headquarters has been cut off since the past one week.
A breakdown of machinery parts at the central line in Salyan and Syapurdaha Micro Hydro Power Project severed power connectivity last Sunday.
The absence of electrical power here has disrupted works in the government offices and affected normal life. The distribution of citizenship document and other governmental works have also been affected, Assistant Chief District Officer, Sher Bahadur Pun said.
The health workers in district hospital say the lack of power has created problems in treating the patients with the hospital unable to carry out ultrasound and x-rays for the patients. It has also affected maternity and laboratory services, according to District Health Office Salle Senior Midwife, Deepak Bista.
More than four dozen cottage industries have also stopped working while regular broadcast of five FM stations in the district has scaled down. RSS
