NEW DELHI, Oct. 31: The Narendra Modi-led NDA government on Tuesday received a shot in the arm as India jumped 30 places to rank 100th in World Bank’s ‘ease of doing business’ report. “We were ranked 142 in 2014 and 130 last year in ease of doing business World Bank list. This year we have taken a 30 point jump to 100,” Finance Minister of India Arun Jaitley said while addressing a press conference.
World Bank’s report notes India is one country which has made structural reforms this year, said the Indian Finance Minister.
Buoyed over the implementation of Goods and Services Tax and host of other reforms, India had been pinning its hopes for a considerable improvement in ranking in the World Bank’s ease of doing business index.
