Kathmandu, Dec. 3: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday scarped a habeas corpus petition filed seeking the release of CK Raut who was arrested on charge of treason.
A division bench of Justices Dipak Raj Joshi and Bam Kumar Shrestha decided to scrap the petition in regard to Raut. The SC has also directed the officials concerned to send Raut to Rautahat district to record his statement on treason charges.
Police has lodged a case against Raut on charge of treason claiming that Raut made statements against the state advocating secession.
In this connection, Raut had lodged the habeas corpus petition in second week of October demanding to release him on bail or general date. RSS
