Kaski, Nov. 6: Pokhara Paltan won the title of Pokhara Premier League (PPL) Cricket Competition by thrashing Chitwan Rhinos.
In the final match held Tuesday in Pokhara, Pokhara Paltan emerged victorious in the first edition of the PPL defeating Chitwan Rhinos by three wickets. With the win, Pokhara Paltan received Rs 2.7 million in cash while Chitwan Rhinos bagged Rs 1 million.
Pokhara Paltan met the target of 161 by Chitwan Rhinos, thanks to the outstanding batting by Rabinder Singh in the home ground. Likewise, Mohammad Navid contributed 25 runs and Sharad Veshwakar made 22 runs for the Pokhara Paltan.
For the Chitwan Rhinos, Paras Khadka made 51 runs while Sanni Patel contributed 43 runs.
The tournament kicked off on 26 October ended on Tuesday that saw the participation of six different teams.
In the tournament, Sanni Patel of Chitwan Rhinos was declared 'Player of the Tournament' and got a motorcycle in prize. Likewise, Karan KC of Chitwan Rhinos named best bowler and Gaurab Tomar of Kathmandu Royals as the best batsman of the tournament. Both, KC and Tomar received a scooter each.
