Kathmandu, Jan. 16: A worker has died in a gas cylinder explosion in Gongobu of Kathmandu today.
A gas cylinder exploded at the Peace Nepal Handicraft Industry run by Shyam Dhungana in the incident that took place at around 12:30 today. In the incident, 32-year-old worker Kaji Tamang of Nuwakot was killed, according to Kathmandu Police Range spokesperson Hobindra Bogati. Seriously injured, Tamang died at the TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj during treatment.
Four other workers Kailash Shrestha, Raj Kumar BC, Roshan Tamang and Anil Pokharel were injured in the incident. They are undergoing treatment at Vayodha Hospital. The reason behind the explosion is not yet known and an investigation is underway, police said. The explosion also led to a fire in the industry. Further details are awaited. RSS
