Surkhet, Feb. 4: Speaking in the meeting of the Province Assembly, members of the provincial parliament (PP) of Province-6 have committed to making the province prosperous.
In the meeting Sunday, they said that the province was pushed backward despite having immense resources.
The PP members came up with common voice that the province rich in the resources as herbs, mines and forest products should be utilized properly to unlock the development potential.
Sushila Shahi of Kalikot said development of the province with protection of sovereignty was imperative. Yamlal Kandel from Surkhet called on all lawmakers to wage untiring struggle for prosperity and development without comprise.
Likewise, Naresh Bhandari of Jumla expressed his commitment to upgrading the province to a status of developed province in two decades.
Jeevan Bahadur Shahi from Humla observed that the province was rich but the people living there were poor. Mahendra Shahi from Kalikot argued that the province remained backward due to own weaknesses.
Rato Kami of Rukum opined for showing results with actions rather than competing for oratory.
