Kathmandu, May 25: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the NC should take the unity of communists as an opportunity.
Addressing the 12th anniversary of NC's benevolent organization, Nepal Cultural Association, in the capital today, President Deuba stressed the need for internal unity.
"There is no need to worry about the unity of others. Let us move ahead in unison; we will win another election", he added.
President Deuba further noted that internal feud was behind the defeat in the last elections to the House of Representatives and State Assembly.
NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel said the current situation is challenging for Congress. "There is urgency of internal unity in the party to fight against communists and overcome the challenges",
Likewise, NC Vice-President Bimalendra Nidhi said the foremost need of the hour is to consolidate internal unity and organizational base of the party.
Among other speakers were Joint-Secretary Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, central member Guru Raj Ghimire and Nepal Women Association President Uma Regmi.
