Ghorahi, Dec. 29: A two-day province level Maghi festival is to be held here on the occasion of the great festival of Maghi of the Tharu community.
The festival to be held on coming January 11 and 12 is being organized with the objective of preserving the promoting the traditional art and culture of the Tharu community. Accordingly, a 151-member main organizing committee has been formed under the leadership of Bhuvan Chaudhary, the chair of Tharu Kalyankari Sabha is the district.
The Maghauta dance will be the special attraction for this year’s festival along with Tharu delicacies, according to Chaudhary. Traditional art and crafts and books on Tharu language will also be on display at the festival. RSS
