Kathmandu, Mar. 30: The National Guardians Association of Nepal is to mobilize the guardians for the school enrollment campaign in the forthcoming school session. The campaign is being launched with the objective of enrolling the out-of-school children in schools.
As per the government statistics, still nearly four percent of the school-age children are out of school throughout the country. The government has been running this campaign in April every year.
A meeting of the office-bearers of the Association chaired by its president Dharma Datta Devkota has decided to direct all the Association's district committees to extensively mobilize the guardians in the school enrollment campaign and to aware them that no children of the school-going age are left out and there are no drop-outs.
The Association has also called on the Ministry of Education to fulfill its commitments regarding amendment to the Institutional School Fee Determination Standard and Guidelines, 2073 BS and making a review of the textbook production and distribution policy. It also demanded that the Ministry should take stern action against the guilty if any lapses were found in that connection. (RSS)
