Kathmandu, Aug. 23: The 21st national conference of All Nepal National Independent Students' Union (ANNISU) (Revolutionary), sister organisation of the CPN (Maoist Centre) has kicked off here from Wednesday.
Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' inaugurated the five-day conference.
Closed session of the conference will start from tomorrow (Thursday) at the memorial building of Tribhuvan University in Kirtipur, said the organising committee. The conference organised with slogan of 'our campaign in favour of nationality and socialist education, 21st national conference for unity for building a strong organisation', will conclude on August 27.
A total of 2,072 representatives will participate, said Chairperson of the ANNISU (Revolutionary) Narendra Prasad Neupane.
Meanwhile speaking at the inaugural event, Maoist Centre Chairman Dahal directed the ANNISU leadership to go to vote if it fails to pick the new leadership through consensus. RSS
