Itahari, Jan. 27: Three Star Club is facing Manang Marysyangdi Club for the title match of the Madan Bhandari Memorial Itahari International Invitational gold cup tournament here today.
Both the team coaches have claimed to win the match that will also give them the highest prize money in a football tournament in the country.
Speaking at a press conference on the eve of the final, TSC coach Megh Raj KC said his team would definitely win the match and the preparation was being made accordingly. The TSC had made it to the final by defeating Tribhuvan Army Club by 5-3 in a tie-breaker.
The MMC has already won two titles recently and plans to not let go this match of a significant amount of prize money, said its coach Tsering Lopsang. The MMC had booked a place in the final by defeating visitors Garifa Sports Club of Kolkata by 3-0.
The final match is taking place at the local Itahari stadium with a full-house audience. The winner will walk home with Rs. 1.2 million in prize money while the runner-up will win Rs. 600,000. The best footballer of the tournament will ride home a motorcycle. RSS
