Solukhumbu, Aug. 9: A man arrested in accusation of thrashing a domestic worker to death has chartered a flight on a helicopter to the District Police Office (DPO).
Kamal Rai of Khumjung of Pasang Lhamu rural municipality – 4 accused of beating Dhan Bahadur BK to death was arrested on Sunday by the Area Police Office, Namche.
He chartered helicopter flight to the Salleri district headquarters on Tuesday, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Madhav Budhathoki said.
BK's body was also brought to Salleri on the flight. His body has been taken to Faplu District Hospital for an autopsy report.
Rai beat up BK at his home on Friday and later took him for treatment at a local health centre. BK died in course of treatment on Saturday.
Rai chartered the flight as it would have taken three days to walk to the district headquarters from Namche. Bringing the dead body for post – mortem examination would have taken additional two more days. The roads connecting Namche have been made impassable by the heavy monsoon downpours. RSS
