Parsa, Jan. 25: Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Chakrapani Khanal, has said that the country could not be made prosperous until the development of agriculture sector was ensured.
At an interaction organised by Nepal Communist Party Province 2 Parliamentary Committee at Parawanipur of Bara on Friday, Minister Khanal expressed the belief that the country could be headed towards the path of prosperity by addressing the existing unemployment by allocating necessary budget in the agricultural sector.
He further said the government was preparing to establish modern agriculture research centre in all seven provinces across the country.
The Agriculture Minister stressed the need of partnership among the three-tiers of governments to modernize and commercialize agro sector as agriculture is only the means to end increasing trade deficit, brain drain of youths and dependency on food grains.
Similarly, Minister for Cooperatives of Province 2, Shailendra Saha, former Minister Prabhu Saha, among others expressed the view that dependency on food grains could be ended if there were appropriate arrangement of hybrid seeds, fertilizer and irrigation on time. RSS
