Parasi, Oct. 17: Ramgram municipality of West Nawalparasi conducted the monitoring of Dashain market on Wednesday.
The market monitoring was conducted at the local level with the enforcement of a monitoring directive.
Deputy Mayor of the municipality, Rambha Kunwar, led the market monitoring. The Local Government Operation Act 2074 has given authority to the deputy chief at local level for the market monitoring.
The municipality conducted the monitoring at various 30 shops.
It was found with the monitoring that most of the meat shops were run without meeting the standard.
Similarly, date expired soft drinks were sold in the market.
The respective shopkeepers were warned of action if they failed to maintain standard and follow the rule.
However, district chairman of the consumers’ rights protection forum, Ramaji Gyawali, said the market monitoring could be effective if there were experts in the team. RSS
