Kathmandu, Jan. 13: Artists from Nepal and Japan jointly presented 14 popular folk tunes of Nepal and Japan at a programme 'Chautari Saanj-2074'.
At the programme organized by Sanskritik Sansthan, flute player Pancha Lama and Tabla player Shrawan Lama of Chautari Band and Japanese artist Terakado Mitsigu presented folk songs of both the countries.
Artist duo, Pancha and Shrawan, have been active for the promotion of Nepali folk music in Japan.
On the occasion Nepali artist duo delivered their performance through flute and Tabla titled 'Journey through the Light' while Japanese artist Mitsigu joined them through guitar.
At the programme, 'Tokyo Night Tune' was also performed. Likewise, the artists had also delivered their folk songs entitled 'The Himalayan', 'Lambada', 'Dancing Bird', 'Caravan', 'Banchari' and 'Ye Kaanchha'.
The special event was organized to present Nepali and Japanese music in a single platform, said Sansthan's general manager Rajesh Thapa.
The amount collected from the event will be given to a child home operated by Chetana Sandesh for conflict victim children in Hariban municipality-5 of Sarlahi. RSS
