Pokhara, July 21: A financial assistance of Rs. 23,000 collected through crowd funding was handed over to two children, who lost both their parent in the tipper accident that took place recently in Mustang.
Mausam Ghartimagar and his wife Jitmaya were working as road construction workers in Mustang when the fatal accident took place, leaving their two sons 12-year-old Bibash and six-year-old Biseshan orphaned. A permanent resident of Thawang-1, Rolpa, the Ghartimagar family was living in a rented quarter in Naya Bazaar of Pokhara.
The amount was collected at the initiative of media person Jamuna Sharma Barshan and was received from people within and outside the country. The amount was handed over to them on Friday. Earlier, the Lions Club of Pokhara, Diamonds Village (Rs. 20,000), Ramesh Bahadur Bhattarai (Rs. 10,000) and District Child Welfare Board (Rs. 10,000) had also supported the kids.
Meanwhile, efforts are being made to admit the children to the SOS Children's Village in Ram Bazaar, according to Treasurer of Rolpa-Pokhara Liasion Committee Ram Kumar Budha. RSS
