Kathmandu, July 15: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rebounded on Tuesday, gaining 34.46 points or 1.26% to close at 2,760.17 points, recovering nearly all of Monday's loss.
The trading session witnessed gains across major indices. The Float Index, which reflects the performance of actively traded stocks, rose by 1.48%, while the Sensitive Index, which tracks Class 'A' companies, climbed by 1.38%.
Sector-wise, the market saw a predominantly positive trend, with the Banking sector recording the highest gain of 1.81%, followed by the Finance sector at 1.79%, Hydropower at 1.71%, Microfinance at 1.28%, Development Bank at 1.22%, and the Investment sector at 1.08%.
Trading activity also picked up slightly compared to the previous day. The total daily turnover rose to Rs 9.41 billion from Rs 8.17 billion on Monday. A total of 26,517,209 shares from 317 companies were traded across 74,057 transactions. Out of the traded stocks, 209 recorded gains while only 39 declined.
With the market bouncing back, total market capitalization stood at Rs 4.599 trillion by the end of Tuesday's session.
