Kathmandu, Sept. 29: The Supreme Court on Wednesday deferred hearing on House of Representatives (HoR) Speaker Agni Sapkota's case yet again.
A five-member constitutional bench, led by Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana, including Justices Deepak Kumar Karki, Meera Khadka, Hari Krishna Karki, and Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada, deferred the hearing.
Speaker Sapkota has been accused of murdering Arjun Lama of Kavre during the armed conflict. In 2008, deceased Lama's wife Purnimaya Lama had filed a case against Sapkota alleging him of kidnapping Lama and burying him alive.
Stating that the police did not probe into the case properly, Purnimaya had filed a case in the Top Court on March 5, 2008.
Prior to this, the case was scheduled for hearing on March 13, 2020 but the hearing did not take place.
