The PM also restated that Operation Sindoor, which India launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed, was not over yet.

“It (Operation Sindoor) showed the world the power of indigenous weapons and Make in India. We destroyed terrorist hideouts in Pakistan by going hundreds of miles inside. Indian weapons, BrahMos missile entered enemy territory and wreaked havoc,” the Prime minister told the rally.

In his first official comments after the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan, PM Modi had outlined that Operation Sindoor was the new normal and the country would not be held to ransom by nuclear blackmail.

On Friday, Modi also spoke of Shubham Dwivedi, calling him the “son of Kanpur” who was a victim of the terror attack in Pahalgam.

“All of us can understand the anger and pain of our sisters and daughters. However, the entire world saw their anger and pain in form of Operation Sindoor, and we completely destroyed several terror hubs in Pakistan,” he said.

Modi also lauded the bravery of the armed forces at the LoC during Operation Sindoor. “It was the valour and courage of our armed forces that forced Pakistan to beg for a ceasefire. I once again salute our brave soldiers. To our enemy, who was pleading during Operation Sindoor, I reiterate: the operation is not over yet,” he said.

On Friday, PM Modi inaugurated the new underground section of the Kanpur metro rail project from Chunniganj to Kanpur Central. This section includes five new underground stations — Chunniganj, Bada Chauraha, Naveen Market, Nayaganj and Kanpur Central.

Additionally, PM Modi also inaugurated three 660-megawatt power units in Ghatampur and a thermal power project in Panki. These projects are expected to ensure a stable and sufficient electricity supply for Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring states. Two new railway bridges from the Panki power plant to Kalyanpur were also inaugurated.-Agencies
