Kathmandu, Oct. 21: Nepal defeated Hong Kong by 79 runs, earning the place in the final of the triangular T20I series following three consecutive victories.
After scoring 214 runs, Nepal managed to restrict Hong Kong to 134 runs, sealing their third consecutive win.
In today's match held at Mulpani Cricket Ground, Nepal won the toss and chose to bat first. Kushal Malla led the charge with an impressive 92 runs, while Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 57 runs to the total. Additional contributions came from Asif Sheikh with 20 runs, captain Rohit Paudel with 11 runs, Kusal Bhurtel with 2 runs, and Sandeep Jora and Gulsan Jha, who each scored one run.
Hong Kong's highest contributor was Anshuman Rath with 45 runs, followed by Babar Hayat with 20 runs and Aijaz Khan with 25 runs.
Karan KC, Sompal Kami and Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi took two wickets each for Nepal. Similarly, Pratish GC and Dipendra Singh Airee took one wicket each.
Earlier, Nepal defeated the UAE by 7 wickets in the first match. In the second match, Nepal defeated Hong Kong by 6 wickets. With this victory, Nepal has reached the final by being at the top with 6 points, while the other teams have yet to earn any points.
The final match for Nepal is scheduled against the UAE on Monday, with the UAE and Hong Kong facing off on Sunday and Wednesday. The series final is slated for Friday.
