Kathmandu, Dec. 24: Gold price in the domestic market continued its upward trend on Wednesday, rising by Rs 900 per tola to set a new historic high.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold is being traded at Rs 268,100 per tola, up from Rs 267,200 per tola on Tuesday.
Silver price also recorded a sharp increase, reaching an all-time high in the Nepali market. The price of silver surged by Rs 165 per tola in a single day, and is now being traded at Rs 4,420 per tola, compared to Rs 4,255 per tola on Tuesday, the Federation said.
The continued rise in precious metal prices has made gold and silver increasingly expensive for domestic consumers.
