Public transport fare reduced in Bagmati province

Kathmandu, May 25: The fare of public transportation has been reduced in Bagmati province. With the decrease in the price of diesel, the transportation   fare has also been adjusted in the province.

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced the price of diesel by Rs 10 per liter to Rs 155 per liter.

According to the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Transport of the province, the fare of public vehicles operating within the Kathmandu Valley has decreased by 5.90 percent. The fare of public vehicles plying outside the valley has decreased by 4.18 percent and that of freight vehicles by 5.69 percent.

In Bagmati province, the fare up to 5 km is Rs 18, fare is Rs 23 up to 10 km, Rs 27 up to 15 km, Rs 30 up to 20 km and Rs 35 above 20 km. After 5.90 percent reduction in the fare of Rs 18,  a passenger traveling up to 5 km will  have to pay  Rs 17.
