Meeting between PM Prachanda and Sri Lankan President Wickremesinghe

Kathmandu, Jan. 20: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has met with the President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, in America.

Prime Minister Dahal, who is in America to attend the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, met with President Wickremesinghe in New York, the Prime Minister's Secretariat informed.

Likewise, UN High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States, Rabab Fatima, called on Prime Minister Dahal on Tuesday.

According to the information provided by New York-based Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations, various matters related to common concerns and ways to encourage the interests and issues of the Least Developed Countries in multilateral forum were discussed during the meeting.

Prime Minister Prachanda is addressing the UNGA on Thursday.

Earlier, Prime Minister Dahal addressed the 2023 SDG Summit as the Chair of the Group of the LDCs at the UN Headquarters in New York on Monday.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' also met with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

During the meeting held on the sidelines of the 78th   session of the UNGA, Prime Minister Prachanda and Secretary General Guterres dwelled on various issues including Nepal's peace process, climate change, Sustainable Development Goals, Least Developed Countries, development cooperation, the Prime Minister's Secretariat tweeted.

Prachanda will leave for China on September 22 from New York to participate in the Asian Games. He is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Hangzhou on the occasion.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the China visit, Prime Minister Dahal will hold bilateral discussions and reach an understanding on issues including energy, physical infrastructure, transportation, and agriculture.
