Kathmandu, Dec. 23: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday increased marginally by 3.27 points to close at 2,584.49 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,581.22 points and inched up two points before plunging to the day’s low at 2,569.29 points within the first one and a half hours. The market inclined to hit day’s high at 2,584.72 points in the next half an hour. The market went through narrow fluctuations in its index and slid nominal points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Six groups were the losers as life insurance plummeted by the largest of 102.15 points. Of the seven gainers, manufacturing and processing added the largest of 20.82 points.The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, increased 1.57 points. The daily turnover declined further to Rs 3.42 billion from Rs 3.51 billion.
Among the individual companies, 134 were gainers while 117 were recorded as losers. SY Panel Nepal Limited had the largest turnover of its shares, worth Rs 309.81 million. The company was also recorded as the highest gainer, with an addition of 7.01 percent in its market price. Citizens Life Insurance Company was the top loser of 5.97 percent.
