Kathmandu, Jan. 4: Marking a significant milestone in bilateral cooperation, Nepal and India have formalized an agreement for the trade of 10,000 megawatts of electricity.
The accord was inked during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resource, and Irrigation.
Energy Secretary Gopal Prasad Sigdel and his Indian counterpart Pankaj Agrawal were the signatories to this groundbreaking long-term agreement.
This accord follows the commitment made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who announced the intention to purchase 10,000 megawatts of electricity over the next decade during the visit of his Nepali counterpart, Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
