Kathmandu, Aug. 6: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday fell 13.82 points to close at 2,654.15.

The secondary market opened at 2,667.97 and climbed to the day's high of 2,676.40 within the first two minutes. However, the market remained on a downward trend for the rest of the trading session, hitting the day's low of 2,648.28 in the final eight minutes.

Except for the trading sector, whose index gained 20 points, the remaining 12 sectors posted declines. The manufacturing and processing sector recorded the steepest drop, falling 93.04 points.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of blue-chip companies, also declined by 2.62 points. Meanwhile, the daily turnover increased marginally to Rs 4.62 billion.

Among individual companies, 202 were losers, 64 posted gains, and 10 remained unchanged. Ridi Power Company Limited recorded the highest turnover, with shares worth Rs 472.40 million traded.

LS Horizon 12 was the biggest loser, shedding 6.50 percent of its market value. Meanwhile, Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Company emerged as the top gainer, with its share price rising 15 percent.
