Kathmandu, Feb. 17: The Embassy of India in Kathmandu has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of a Nepali student at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. Issuing a press release on Monday, the Embassy extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
According to the Embassy, it is in close coordination with KIIT authorities and the Odisha State Government, which has already initiated an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, KIIT has urged Nepali students to return to the campus, resume their classes, and stay in the hostels. The institute has assured students that their academic losses will be duly addressed, the release further stated.
Nepali students studying in India form an important facet of the enduring people to people links between the two countries. The Government of India will continue to take all necessary steps to ensure the well-being of the Nepali students in India, the embassy added.
