Kathmandu, Aug. 13: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Thursday increased 8.81 points to close at 2,651.21 points, marking a third day nominal rise in the market index.
The market that opened at 2,642.40 points initially plunged to day’s low at 2,637.04 points before soaring to the day’s high at 2,656.29 points within the first half of trading time. The market shed around five points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Two groups including investment and mutual funds declined 0.49 points and 0.04 points, respectively. As trading remained stable, manufacturing and processing inclined up the largest 59.32 points out of 10 gainers.
Daily turnover increased to Rs 3.72 billion from Rs 3.53 billion. Among the individual companies, 172 were gainers, 86 were losers and 19 remained stable.
Ghalemdi Hydro Limited witnessed the largest transaction of its shares of Rs 299.81 million. Sarvottam Paints Industries Limited surged by 15 percent as Prabhu Bank Debenture 2086 with a decline of 10.45 points was the topmost loser.
