Indian PM Modi to inaugurate India Mobile Congress on October 27

New Delhi, Oct. 26: Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is set to inaugurate the 7th Edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2023 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, on October 27th. During the event, Modi will unveil a groundbreaking initiative, awarding 100 ‘5G Use Case Labs’ to educational institutions across the nation as part of the ‘100 5G labs initiative.’

According to the Indian Media, The ‘100 5G labs initiative’ represents a strategic effort to harness the potential of 5G technology, encouraging the development of 5G applications tailored to both India’s specific requirements and global demands. This pioneering initiative is poised to drive innovation across diverse sectors, including education, agriculture, healthcare, power, and transportation, catapulting India to the forefront of 5G technology adoption. It also signifies a crucial step in building a 6G-ready academic and startup ecosystem while contributing to the development of indigenous telecom technology vital for national security.

The India Mobile Congress (IMC) is the largest telecom, media, and technology forum in Asia, scheduled to take place from October 27th to 29th, 2023. IMC 2023 will serve as a platform to showcase India’s remarkable progress in telecommunications and technology, facilitating significant announcements and providing startups with an opportunity to showcase their innovative products and solutions.

Under the theme ‘Global Digital Innovation,’ IMC 2023 aims to bolster India’s stature as a developer, manufacturer, and exporter of cutting-edge technologies. The three-day congress will shine a spotlight on transformative technologies such as 5G, 6G, Artificial Intelligence (AI), while addressing crucial issues in the semiconductor industry, green technology, cybersecurity, and more.

In a new addition for this year, IMC introduces the ‘Aspire’ startup program, designed to foster connections between startups, investors, and established businesses, catalyzing fresh entrepreneurial initiatives and collaborations.

IMC 2023 is set to draw participation from over one lakh attendees from approximately 22 countries, including 5000 CEO-level delegates, 230 exhibitors, 400 startups, and various stakeholders. This event promises to be a pivotal moment in India’s technological journey, showcasing its commitment to digital innovation on a global stage.
