Pokhara, Dec. 13: A group from the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), along with the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, presented Kathak dance performances in Pokhara, Nepal. The event took place on Thursday at two locations in this popular tourist city, known for its beautiful lakes and scenery.
The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu shared on social media that an 8-member troupe performed a Kathak dance recital by the scenic Fewa Lake in Pokhara. This event was part of a series organized by the Indian Embassy, inaugurated by Dhana Raj Acharya, the Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City. The performances were attended by provincial lawmakers and senior civil servants.
Mayor Acharya spoke about the strong cultural and civilizational connections between India and Nepal, which help unite the people of both countries. The event attracted a large audience from various backgrounds.
Besides the performances at Fewa Lake, the ICCR also held a lecture demonstration at the Nepal-Bharat Maitri Vidhyalaya, located within the Embassy and Pension Paying Office in Pokhara.
